Perfect for My Purposes

I homeschool two middle school kids. I use this text (for myself... not the kids) to supplement the middle school Life Science text. The pictures and diagrams are beautiful. It feels as if the author is talking to the reader... really trying to communicate meaning. He also attempts to make many points through analogy... trying his best to help one understand complicated topics. I find them (the analogies) mostly helpful. For a guy 25 years removed from college, who worked in business (not science) his whole life, this is perfectly suited for my needs.
The only con I have is that the pages are really, really thin. It is too easy to tear them (e.g. just turning a page is a delicate operation).

Great biology book

This is a really interesting book about biology. I really enjoyed reading this book and learned a lot about biology in the process.
This book is really well written and it flows smoothly. It is very easy to follow. The concepts, facts and theories in this book were explained thoroughly and with great details. The concepts are really easy to understand.
I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about biology.

Rated high because I was able to rent it for my class instead of having to buy it new or used. The book has seen better days, but I imagine it's probably seen a few semesters. Some stains and cracks on the binding, but the book is still very much useable.
The content in the book is laid out well and diagrams are easy to read.
